Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
This policy explains what Primerr collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the service and to help you learn.
What we collect
- Account information — your name, email, and password (stored hashed).
- Documents you upload — the PDFs you add to your library, so you can read and study them.
- Learning activity— highlights, questions, tutor conversations, and a per-user “memory” the tutor builds to personalize your help; plus onboarding answers (level, purpose, goal).
- Usage & billing — feature usage and credit metering; for paid plans, subscription status. Card payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical data — basic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use it
- To provide the tutor, reader, and your personalized learning experience.
- To operate accounts, subscriptions, and support.
- To keep the service secure and improve it.
Where your data is stored
Your account and learning data are stored in our cloud database, and your uploaded documents are stored in Amazon Web Services (S3). So your library and progress follow you across devices. On the desktop app you can run the AI on your own machine (local mode), in which case those AI requests are processed on-device — but your documents, notes, and account still sync to the cloud so nothing is lost. We do not claim that data never leaves your device; we are transparent that your content is stored in the cloud.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run Primerr:
- AI — in cloud mode, your questions and the relevant page content are sent to AI providers (e.g. OpenAI, Google) to generate answers. In local mode on the desktop app, this runs on your device.
- Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
- AWS — document storage and hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Resend — transactional email.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete documents at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data — see Contact us.
Your choices
- Access, correct, or delete your documents and account data.
- Cancel your subscription anytime (you keep access until the end of the paid period).
- Use the desktop app’s on-device mode to keep AI processing local.
Children
Primerr is intended for students and lifelong learners. If you are under the age required by your local law to consent to online services, please use Primerr with a parent, guardian, or your school/organization.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves; the “last updated” date above will change accordingly.
